What SocialWire is
A free, read-only site. You can read it without signing up and nothing you do on it is stored by us. It lists creators who cover politics, shows their reels, checks claims made in reels (Fact-checks) and explains public questions in plain words (Issues).
How we work
- Claims, not people. A Fact-check is about one claim in one reel. It does not rate the creator.
- Same checks for everyone. We use the same method whichever side a creator is on. A claim is marked True, Partly true, Misleading or False.
- Sources on every page. Each Fact-check and Issue lists the documents and reports it relies on, with links.
- A person approves. We use an AI assistant (called Orbit) to collect reels and to draft summaries. A person reads and approves every Fact-check and Issue page before it is published. No verdict is published by a machine alone.
- We say what we know. We show facts and what sources say. We do not give our own opinion on who is right in politics.
- Tags are set by people. A creator's tag, such as Left wing or Right wing, is chosen by our team and is not worked out by AI.
- Nothing is bought or pinned. Creators are listed A to Z and everything else newest first. No creator can pay to be listed or placed higher.
When we are wrong
See Corrections and right of reply. Anyone shown or named can reply, and we publish it.
